The north coast of Mauritius is characterised by some of the finest tropical beaches on the island, a dazzling combination of calm, azure waters and shockingly white sands. Jutting out to sea on the north west of the island, Pointe aux Cannoniers is a tranquil location, with calm, clear waters and white sands – ideal for families.  The Cannonier Hotel and Club Med are nearby and provide dining and water sports facilities, with Grand Baie being a mere ten-minute drive. Past Cannonier, in the direction towards Port Louis lies the pleasant, coastal resort of Troux aux Biches.  Boasting an excellent coral reef system, some good water sport facilities, a 9 hole golf course and even a casino, the resort has enough to keep you occupied, yet still manages to retain a laid back atmosphere.
