| With compliments from the owner, Sophia the housekeeper will prepare a wonderful dinner with local Greek dishes and wine for you and your guests on arrival. The owner also offers with his compliments ‘green fees’ paid for 4 persons for a day at the Corfu Golf Club. The old stone steps that lead up to the entrance of Gastouri House give no hint of the oasis of lawns and trees that lie beyond. The garden positively encourages children to play imaginative games and there is a magical swimming pool tucked away in a corner surrounded by trees that include an avocado! A pretty courtyard makes the perfect setting for breakfast and there is a wonderful covered dining area in a corner of the building, equally suitable for an informal family meal or a romantic candle-lit dinner. Gastouri House has a comfortable, country house atmosphere, and a history that goes back 300 years. It has been filmed, photographed and written about internationally and its beauty and serenity have provided a peaceful sanctuary for prime ministers, princes, statesmen and celebrities, past and present. Gastouri House, unique amongst Corfu’s most exclusive holiday properties, is ideally situated for exploring the exquisite scenery and beaches of the island’s west coast.
