| The town of Corfu, with great shopping and excellent restaurants, is only half an hour’s drive away. A loggia runs the length of the house, its beamed roof is a haven for a pair of sea swallows that nest here every spring! This is the perfect place for late outdoor breakfasts or romantic candle-lit dinners. A lawn adjoins the terrace and sweeps round to the beautiful swimming pool. Terrace, garden and pool all overlook views of the stunning west coast and there is a glimpse of the beach below. Truly a ‘green’ house. The owners are Dutch, with strong views on the need to protect the environment, and their beautiful house reflects their beliefs. Recycled building materials give the house great dignity – outdoor terraces are paved with old stones from the town of Corfu, and the kitchen has an exquisite blue and white tiled floor from an old house in Athens. Stone walls, roof tiles, and everything from beams to baths have been restored and re-used in a new setting. This is an ideal villa for a wedding celebration or special occasion holiday as the owner is able to supply, on request, a wonderful array of floral displays. A Cook Service is available on request, at an additional cost. |
