| A charming house with an intimate atmosphere it has a pretty outdoor sitting and dining area in the form of a split-level courtyard, the lower part of which houses the plunge pool. Rosemary, lavender and a fine fig tree lend colour and fragrance to this delightful spot. The two twin bedrooms open on to this lower courtyard and are thus ideally sited for a morning dip and a pre-breakfast coffee – perhaps accompanied by figs straight off the tree. One of the oldest houses in Rou, and arguably one of the prettiest, it has been allowed to retain many evocative old features, and bright blue plumbago climbs over walls where the stones have remained in their weathered grey state. At both levels the house overlooks glorious views across the blue Ionian Sea towards Albania. A striking and magnificent painting by Pippa Sykes has influenced the colour tones of the lovely sitting room. |
