Overall, all tourism potentially has an environmental, social and economic impact on the destination involved. As much as we are able, CV Travel undertakes to:
- Protect the Environment - its flora, fauna and landscapes.
- Respect local cultures - traditions, religions and built heritage.
- Benefit local communities - both economically and socially.
- Conserve natural resources - from office to destination.
- Minimise pollution - through noise, waste disposal and congestion.
Through our membership of the Association of Independent Tour Operators, we are part of an initiative to
advocate Responsible Tourism. All AITO members are encouraged to submit a Responsible Tourism Policy and AITO
has set up a star system in order to recognise Tour Operators' work in this area.
At CV Travel, we have a number of charities that we support through a donation for each
post-holiday questionnaire received. This year our designated charities are Macmillan Cancer Relief,
Palmtree Foundation (Morocco) and Corfu Animal Rescue Establishment (CARE).
Macmillan Cancer Relief, a charity that continues to push for better care of people affected by cancer, has been supported by us for many years now and is the most popular charity with our clients.
In Morocco, we have offered financial support for a mobile dental unit in Marrakech, which is an initiative created by the Palmtree Foundation. The mobile dental unit allows many inhabitants in remote areas to see a dentist for the first time in their lives, where their teeth will be checked and minor treatments administered. The mobile unit dentists can also pick up more serious conditions and refer patients for treatment at local hospitals. We closely follow the success of this initiative.
We are committed to working with CARE in Corfu, which has re-homed over 1,000 stray animals in the past four years. We provide more information about this charity in Corfu, and enable local contributions to be made.
In Paxos we help PAWS (Paxos Animal Welfare Society) through offering complimentary accommodation to its volunteers. There is no regular veterinery service on the island, so we are happy to support this initiative which organises inoculations and health checks for abandoned animals.
In addition we support through different ways, other charities overseas. Back in Corfu, we have welcomed the opportunity to give something back to the local community by making a substantial contribution towards the construction of a new church in St Stephano.

CV Travel is proud to have been awarded 2 stars and will continue to work towards evermore responsible tourism.
